The brand new single from Ed Bennett, entitled ‘Honey & Gold’ is out today on Marquee Records, London. Listen on all streaming platforms now via this link: https://bit.ly/46DJmvA
Ed Bennett is a modern day anomaly in that he is a jobbing musician surviving on his earnings by taking to the stage and playing live. HONEY & GOLD is the latest single to be taken from his forthcoming album, WORLDS BETWEEN.
Written during lockdown as Ed paced the halls of his flat with an acoustic guitar. He’d been musing on the title for a while and the song went through a number of stylistic changes evolving from a Neil Young esq guitar tune and morphing into a song influenced by Ed’s early musical heroes, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf and Robert Johnson.
HONEY & GOLD is a metaphor for money, needing it and not having it, desiring it yet also understanding that its not soley the be all and end all as mentioned in the lyric, “But all that you can have ain’t all you can hold,”
Ed takes to the stage again playing the following dates:
Fri 8th Dec The Durrell Arms, Parsons Green Sun 10th Dec The Elephants Head, Camden Sat 16th Dec The Durrell Arms, London
