MARQUEE RECORDS:
NURTURING BURGEONING MUSICAL TALENT
The stage is set. Step inside….
A great British icon of music, The Marquee Club first flung open its doors to a nation of vibrant live music in 1958, on Oxford Street, London. It was a pivotal venue for nurturing burgeoning talent by staging early performances by bands who were to achieve worldwide fame in the 1960s. The club became a mecca for young bands in the following decades, and is famous for staging the first-ever live performance by the Rolling Stones on 12 July 1962. The Marquee Club closed its doors for the last time in 1996.
Until now….
The baby brother of (or The next generation of)the first Marquee Club brand, and under the watchful eye of the original brand owners, Marquee Records launches to reinvigorate the nurturing ethos and spirit of those early days. Cultivating and developing the absolute best of burgeoning British musicians, Marquee Records provides a platform for new talent to explode from the recorded format, onto the global stage.
As a nurturer of burgeoning talent, Marquee Records recognises that the biggest help an artist can get is access to studio facilities, leading to the birth of the Marquee Records studio hub. Some artists will arrive at our doors, shrink-wrapped and ready for release, others will be developed by our in-house team of producers and engineers, led by Michael Smith who has amassed millions of streams across all digital platforms and numerous radio plays across the BBC and Independent Networks including shows presented by Steve Lamacq, Huw Stevens, Jack Stevens, Annie Mac, Charlie Ashcroft.
All talent that enters the Marquee are nurtured within our development hub studios, to bring out their best possible sound.
