Marquee Records Presents: A very special night on live music from a selection of Marquee Artists including Louis and The Shakes, Third Lung and Ed Bennett.
Louis & The Shakes:
Returning with new music under the iconic Marquee Records, stalwarts of the indie live circuit Louis and The Shakes continue to evolve, yielding a darker soundscape of arrangements and pop sensibility. Louis and The Shakes have transformed into a new beast which will surely see them propelling into more mainstream audiences
Third Lung:
Since releasing their debut album ‘Gameplay’ on 04:11:22, which the band launched to a packed out hometown headline show at Sub89 in Reading. Third Lung have garnered immediate support from the likes of BBC Music 6 (Steve Lemacq), Record Collector, HiFi+, The Arts Desk, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio (Charlie Ashcroft), Planet Rock, Gigslutz among many others. Alongside this the band have embarked on an extensive record store tour stopping at numerous indie locations and over 20 HMV branches nationwide with more to follow. Most recently the band have signed with the world renowned and iconic Marquee Records under the umbrella of Universal Music Group.
Ed Bennett:
Ed’s New Single: The Worst Of It, is Ed Bennett’s second single on Marquee Records, following on from Small Stuff his debut single. It was the last song to be recorded for Ed’s album sessions, “Worlds Between,” due for release later this year. Recorded very quickly with producer Michael Smith capturing the songs raw urgency. Of the song Ed has this to say, “its not the hardest song to play, but that being said, I wanted to get back to the stuff that I really wanted to do which is showcasing my guitar playing within Rock “N” Roll songs. Not to get into personal detail but the song itself is just about general angst, whatever form it may find you in life, as well as dealing with it and getting over it.”
